Vero Beach to Titusville 6/24/14 – 6/25/14
We pulled anchor in Vero Beach yesterday and proceeded north. It is much quicker to pull anchor and go than leaving from the dock. Our night here was quite peaceful; no wake issues and no severe weather to keep us awake. After the sun went down there were no other boats passing and only the occasional car on the bridge that we couldn’t hear anyway.
A very relaxing morning |
We decided our next destination was going to be Titusville. About seven hours later, we saw a famous landmark emerging in the distance; the Vehicle Assembly Building. We would be taking the day off the next day to spend some time at Kennedy Space Center.
The marina in Stuart was bustling and jam packed full of flashy yachts. Our modest tug was tucked in the shadow of much larger passage-makers and blue water sailboats. There we didn’t care, we were just glad to get some dock power, showers and dinner. Here in Titusville, the marina is much lower key and quiet; which we prefer. Also, we enjoy watching the three manatees that have been hanging around.

Today we took advantage of some much welcomed land time. After breakfast, we called a cab and spent some time at Kennedy Space Center. Here are some pictures of the imposing Space Shuttle Atlantis and historic rockets that are on display.
